Content & Moderation Policy

Overview
This policy governs content published through LoonBox's shared platforms: The Nest (feather and extension marketplace) and Tremolo (music distribution). It does not apply to your local music library or private application data.
Our goal is simple: keep the platforms useful, legal, and respectful.
The Nest — Feathers & Extensions
Submission Requirements
All feathers and extensions published to The Nest must:
- Include a valid manifest with accurate metadata (name, author, description, version)
- Declare all required permissions honestly — no hidden capabilities
- Not contain malware, spyware, cryptocurrency miners, or any malicious code
- Not impersonate official LoonBox features or other developers' work
- Not include hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory content in names, descriptions, or assets
- Respect third-party intellectual property — do not distribute copyrighted assets without authorization
Extension-Specific Rules
- Extensions must operate within their declared permission scope
- Network requests must go only to domains listed in the manifest
- Extensions must not exfiltrate user data beyond what is necessary for their stated function
- Extensions that connect to third-party services must disclose this in their description and include a privacy notice
Feather-Specific Rules
- Feathers must not contain executable code — they are visual themes only
- Feather assets (images, icons) must not contain offensive, illegal, or NSFW content without appropriate labeling
- Feathers that replicate the look of other software (e.g., Winamp skins) must note this is a tribute/homage, not an official product
Tremolo — Music Distribution
Content Requirements
All music distributed through Tremolo must be:
- Legally authorized — you must own the rights or have explicit permission from the rights holder
- Original or properly licensed — covers and remixes require appropriate licenses
- Accurately described — correct artist, title, and metadata
Prohibited Content on Tremolo
- Pirated or unauthorized copies of copyrighted music
- AI-generated content misrepresented as human-created
- Content that incites violence or promotes hate against protected groups
- Content that exploits minors in any way
Rights Holder Takedowns
We respond to valid DMCA takedown requests. If you believe your copyrighted work has been distributed on Tremolo without authorization, contact legal@loonbox.app with:
- Identification of the copyrighted work
- The Tremolo URL or content identifier
- Your contact information and a statement of good faith
Social Features
When using LoonBox's social features (profiles, playlist sharing, activity feeds, comments), you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Post hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory content
- Spam or engage in coordinated inauthentic behavior
- Impersonate other users or public figures
- Share others' private information (doxxing)
Review Process
The Nest
Extensions and feathers submitted to The Nest undergo review before publication:
- Automated scan — manifest validation, permission analysis, known-malware signature check
- Manual review — for first submissions and flagged content
Review typically completes within 48 hours. We may request changes before approving a submission.
Tremolo
Tremolo content is reviewed for rights verification before becoming available for purchase. Artists may be asked to provide proof of ownership for disputed content.
Enforcement

| Severe | Permanent ban, content purged | Malware, illegal content, CSAM |
CSAM and exploitation: Any content involving the sexual exploitation of minors results in immediate permanent ban and reporting to NCMEC and relevant law enforcement. There are no warnings or appeals for this category.
Appeals
All enforcement actions except severe violations are appealable. To appeal:
- Email appeals@loonbox.app with your account and the action you're contesting
- Appeals are reviewed by a different team member than the original decision
- You will receive a response within 7 business days
Reporting
To report content that violates this policy:
- In-app: Use the report button on any Nest listing, Tremolo release, or user profile
